Rose
Arbour Tea Room/B&B, Chester, VT
Visited:
January, 2012. Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf.
Served: From a teapot.
Tea: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent.
Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: My British friend and I have been to Afternoon Tea here four times in as many months, happily making the
1 1/2 hour drive to Chester from NH. Suzanne, the owner, is charming and attentive and an outstanding cook. Everything
she makes is delicious, and her attention to detail is amazing. The tea was properly made and cozied and was
accompanied by three courses: chicken salad, cucumber, and egg salad sandwiches, a fabulous scone with jam and
her version of clotted cream, and sugared and chocolate-dipped fruit and petit fours for the sweet course.
The tea sandwiches and scones are the best I have ever had! My friend and I went to Suzanne's Holiday Tea for Christmas,
and that was a truly festive and special occasion, also. The price is reasonable, the portions generous, and the food
fabulous. This is a place and an experience not to miss. A bonus is Suzanne's gift shop with charming items for the
home, kitchen, and tea table scattered around.
Would you go back? Yes, can't wait!

Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a
teapot.
Tea: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent.
Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: The set tea for three was overwhelming. A large pot
of Whitard's Darjeeling in a cosy sustained us through three courses
of heart-shaped sandwiches (ham salad, salmon mousse, chicken salad,
and egg salad), fresh baked scones with whipped cream and jam, and a
selection of pastries, cookies, and chocolate-dipped strawberries
presented on a three-tiered server. Our hostess was attentive, bright
and unobtrusive. The shop is in an old Victorian, filled with tea
accessories, and smelled of dried flowers. Very pleasant, and very
well worth the price. They know how to do it here.

Liberty Tea Company,
Waterbury, VT
Visited:
February, 2008. Meal: Retail only. Type of tea: Loose leaf.
Served: Sample from a hotpot.
Tea: Excellent. Food: n/a. Service: Excellent.
Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: john was kind, informative and truly pleasant to speak with. we sampled and chose some elegant and well
priced teas. his shop was delightful and well arranged. the atmosphere was very pleasant, with lots to choose from;
with many sizes of tea quantities to choose from. we left with a bunch of tasty loose teas, and smiles on our faces.
we could not have spent our time and money more wisely i am merely a novice, but i could tell that john is far from that,
and he made us all feel welcome as well as not ignorant. i would recommend his shop to any and all types of tea
drinkers.
Would you go back? Yes, can't wait!
