Beautiful view from table, but finger sandwiches were skimpy on fillings, tea was lukewarm, had to ask for butter for scones (no jam or clotted cream served with them), one large strawberry each would have been nice dipped in chocolate.
Would you go back? Maybe.

Campkin's of Wellingborough is my favourite teahouse for tea with friends, family or business acquaintances. Not only do they serve a broad selection of teas in china pots and delicate cups and saucers, but they make the best scones I've ever tasted. The service is friendly and relaxed -- you never feel rushed. Someone is always available to refill your teapot or suggest a new tea to sample. I usually bring home a new tea to enjoy, as well as a bag of my favourite brew. Lovely -- always a pleasure, and highly recommended.

I have visited many tea rooms in southern Ontario including major Hotels and Inns and have found this to be one of the best. From our first visit we were made to feel like 'old friends' and on our second several weeks later were called by our names. The luncheon soups are extraordinary as are the deserts! - And yes, while quaint, this Tearoom is very male friendly. While visiting you can browse and admire or purchase original artwork, collectables, antiques and gifts. Visit once and you are sure to want to return and introduce this 'find' to your friends.

I ive in Montreal now - and look forward to visiting friends in Collingwood so that I can return to this lovely little place and enjoy the tea and atmosphere again! It was an entirely pleasant experience. There were so many teas to choose from, the owner was knowledgable and quite patiently explained many of our questions about the different options. He made us feel as if we were guests in his home! A friend of mine also had a little dessert which he said was excellent! I wish Zench the best of luck and hope they succeed in Collinwood for many many years.

I visited the zencha shortly after they opened and was very happy with what I found. Harry, the owner, is very knowledgeable about tea and a good conversationalist. Uta, his wife and partner, is only there on weekends and is a true delight. I usually sit at the bar for a relaxing pot and stimulating conversation. In the short time it has been open, zencha has already become a welcome part of the community. I recommend it to all my friends.

We stopped for lunch at this charming tea room located at the back of an art gallery. The ownwer, Mike, is extremely friendly and explained everything in detail. He prepared all the food. We had soup, salad and the apple-pear-onion quiche is utterly delicious. For desserts we had strawberry cake (yum-yum) and scones. Coupled with a good pot of tea, it was a wonderful experience.

My Husband and I have made a hobby of visiting different tea rooms across southern Ontario. We found Tintagels one day through an internet listing and had never visited the town of Erin before. It was a beautiful day for a trip so off we went. The drive and town were both lovely but the tea room is what truly made the trip! The place itself is absolutely beautiful with an eclectic mix of Victorian and country accents. The service was wonderful and comforting! The women that served us were exceedingly friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We never felt rushed or harried. The tea was delicious (we have tried a few kinds from there now with great results). The food was nothing short of FANTASTIC!!!! We have been there numerous times since the first, always bringing one or two newbie’s (to the tea room experience) with us, and every time we always lament having to leave. Keep in mind that we are willing to drive an hour up and an hour back from this town at least every two weeks JUST for Tintagels! This should tell you just how yummy and fun it is! Our friends end up talking about the experience for days. The tea is good quality, the food is home cooked and truly wonderful. We HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for an afternoon of cozy conversation in an enriching environment. Truly a gem of a tea room!

Comments:
My Husband and I have made a hobby of visiting different tea rooms across southern Ontario. We decided to try the Montgomery’s Inn Afternoon Tea for a change from the Victorian period flare that we love so much. It is truly a country setting complete with costumes and a HUGE hearth (fireplace) where a warm fire was going when we arrived. The place is fairly sparsely adorned but cozy with a homey feel. The folks serving us were sincere and friendly without being intrusive. The place is very period (pilgrim costumes and food made old world style). The tea was good “normal” tea and the apple cider was ok. The food, a plate consisting of one shortbread cookie and a very tangy square with raisins and dates, was not great but not bad. However, for the price of $4 for afternoon tea you really can’t go wrong. I would recommend this place as an inexpensive but cozy warm place to get together with a group of friends for an afternoon of stories by the fire.
Would you go back? Maybe.

My husband and I love exploring different tea rooms in the southern Ontario region. We tried the Victorian Garden Tea Room today for the first time and were not disappointed!!! It was our mother's first time visiting a Tea Room as well as having Afternoon Tea so it was a very special occasion. SHE ADORED IT!!! The atmosphere was very lovely and genteel, with so many  things to look at and dream of being in a different time. We were served tea in traditional Victorian style (We had the Afternoon Tea) on fine English China, the presentation was fabulous. The food was fantastic! The scone was delectable as were the fresh sandwiches and pastries. The tea was absolutely perfect. Toni (I believe is the owner’s name) was extremely knowledgeable about each tea she carries (knows the intricate nuances of steeping time and so on) and even knew what cup and saucer would suit each person the best!!! The rest of the women working there were also wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. Even the music was well chosen, both for the season and atmosphere, not to mention at the right volume to still  continue conversation with your party. We will definitely be returning to this location and telling everyone we know about it as well!

I was excited to finally go to this tea room. My mother and I had tea for two. Our food was delicious we both added the carrot ginger soup to our meal. I had hoped they would have offered just plain scones but they didn't. The flavour that day was apple cranberry and they were awesome so it made up for it. The decor was very pleasant and the staff was wonderful.

Lovely atmosphere. Garden murals on the walls, very light and airy, cheerful room décor. The front of the shop sells all sorts of tea accessories and gifts. The back part is done up as a charming tea room. The Victorian tea includes a warm baked scone, sandwiches and pastries. There are many varieties of tea, all loose-leaf. Tea is served in beautiful tea cups and pots. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend this a visit to this shop!

Miller's Oven is a non-profit 'tea room' run by volunteer's with profit going to charity. The concept of volunteer's, mostly 12 years of age with a supervisor was remarkable. The environment was magnificant, service outstanding an the quality of food excellent. My family and I, total of 6 accidently stumbled upon it visiting the Manotick area Sunday for breakfast. I was offered a selection of specialty teas, but due to my ignorance of flavor I choose the simple 'orange pekeo' to meet my needs. The breakfast special was a mere $4. (all inclusive). The protions were satisfactory for what we paid. In addition we experimented the homemade scons (magnificant) and the lemon merignue & bumbleberry pie (mouth watering) which left us wanting for more. Kudo's to the concept of Miller's Over and if you take the time to understand the outcome you will be truly satisfied.

My sister & I love to visit different tea rooms in Southern Ontario and chose this one on our return from a two day trip to Markham. We love the room and the gift shop. As we were hungry, we also ordered lunch & it was difficult to choose as everything sounded delicious. I can't remember exactly what we had but I do remember that it was extremely tasty ... it was a while ago! I had an Earl Grey cream tea and the server took time to explain to me what it was ... it was lovely ... so lovely that I bought some to take home with me. I still buy it if I can find it closer to home. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would certainly go back again!

We found the ambiance quiet and inviting, however the Afternoon Tea was quite a disapointment,  particularly the desserts. I discovered that almost nothing was homemade, and I was shocked to see that they actually serve President's Choice cookies. The sandwiches were rather bland and boring, and an overwhelming use of parsley seemed to be trying to "fill in" empty space on the plates. We were a party of 6, however all of the sandwiches were piled onto 1 large plate placed in the middle, and it was a pain to keep passing it around. $39.95 for 2 people? I don't think its worth it.

Having visited this establishment numerous times I can say that the best feature of this tea room is the wonderful service provided by the costumed waitresses/waiters and the fact that tea is served in china cups and saucers. The selection of teas is amazing and most of the meals are quite good. The scones though are a disappointment as they are quite heavy and lack flavour. I, like another writer here, was disappointed once to discover after having made a reservation for "afternoon tea" (I naivly thought would consist of little sandwiches, scones, cakes...the usual) that I had merely reserved seats and that I should have reserved a "full afternoon tea" and was therefore denied this pleasure on that occasion. All said and done though I do go back for the delicious teas (of which I have yet many to try) and the quite, unhurried comfort of the place.
Would you go back? Hope so, but we don't live nearby.

My friends and I really enjoyed taking afternoon tea at The Old Curiosity Teashop, but I have to agree with the person who posted in May of 2000. Upon arriving at the tea room there were a few tense moments when we tried to order "afternoon tea for two" only to find out that you have to call and reserve this menu item 24 hours in advance. Lucky for us they did have some prepared (for a later reservation) so they were able to make more and still accommodate us. Having never been to The Old Curiosity before, we were not aware of this policy. I understand that everything is made fresh that day, so they need to know how many people are coming in to order this menu item, but there should be some sort of warning or advertising of this policy. It would have been quite disappointing had we gone all the way to Markham (we were coming from Aurora and Ajax) only to be let down. On the plus side, the staff were very knowledgeable, the tea selection amazing, and the room was quaint and charming. It would have been perfect if they chose to serve all homemade cookies and not a mix of homemade and store bought (they use those President's Choice cookies that come in a tin at Christmas). A very charming place to take tea with many little shops in Old Markham.

This is an excellent place to enjoy tea. They have friendly staff to wait on your every want. The rooms were decorated very nicely. Perhaps more importantly during these hot summer months, the rooms were kept at a very cool and comfortable climate to ensure better drinking of that delicious cup of hot tea. (The selection is quite remarkable.) In short, please take my advice and make this a tearoom you visit. I am sure you won't be disappointed. Our party has already made reservations again for December.

After a rather exhausting day, this tea shop was exactly what my girlfriends and I had been looking for. Wonderful afternoon tea in a clean, quiet atmosphere. The staff were attentive without hovering over us and were very knowledgeable about the tea they were serving. Since we don't live in the area we have been trying to think of reasons to travel back to Markham. Going back to this tea shop seems to be reason enough and we are currently planning to make the trip.

As an afternoon tea lover I have found your site to be an invaluable guide to tea rooms in Ontario. I have not had the pleasure of taking afternoon tea at The Old Curiosity Tea Shop because when I called to make reservations, on an ordinary Sunday, I was informed "we don't have enough." Apparently "not having enough" meant the tea room had not adequately planned its service for the day. I'm stunned by this revelation; it's tantamount to being told by a restaurant that it cannot accept your reservation because there is insufficient food. I would appreciate this review being posted on your site as a caution to others who would like to visit this tea shop.

My husband and I have been to a lot of teashops around the world, and by far the Old Curiosity Teashop, in Markham, Ontario, is the best one out there. The staff are in gorgeous periodic costume, the food was excellent and the teas (they have over 42 different types) were exquisite. They also serve their tea in Royal Doulton china which made it even more exciting. An experience not to miss. Thank you Old Curiosity Teashop for a great time. We'll be back!

Hollyhock Tea Room & Gift Shop was a wonderful find for us! My husband and I were touring Meaford, Ontario, during a late October afternoon. During our walk along the great Georgian Bay Harbor, we spotted a delightful Hollyhock Tea Room sign. Serving afternoon tea with homemade scones, whipped cream, and strawberry preserves. A variety of homemade pies served in generous portion sizes. Healthy full menu selections include assortments of soups, salads, sandwiches made with fresh, pure and high quality ingredients.

Myself and 9 of my girlfriends attended the Christmas Afternoon Tea for the 4th year in a row. We make this an annual event as we all love it so much. This is a special event with hot cranberry cider, salad, traditional afternoon tea sandwiches, fresh scones with cream and preserves and various squares for dessert; and of course a wide selection of teas. The Tea Room has a special "tea of the month", with excellent selections each month. Service was great and the food was wonderful; very fresh and nicely presented. We have attended this tea room many times over the years and really enjoy it. This tea room is even better now that it is under new ownership and management. I highly recommend it!

Last weekend was my 16th Mother's Day Tea at the Tea Room in the Robinson Bray House. It was wonderful, as usual. The ladies, Marg and Bernie work very hard to make sure that everyone enjoys their Afternoon tea. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. As, usual the Tea Room was full with Mom's and their families. It is a special place for us to enjoy a pleasant afternoon. The ladies are very busy during this weekend, but as a regular, I know that when I make my next visit, they will have more time to visit with me. I love this tea room, and appreciate the work that these ladies put into presenting such a lovely event.

In rebuttal to a recent review of the Tea Room in the Robinson Bray House. I have been going to the Tea Room for Mother's Day Tea for years. I've always enjoyed the food and the service. I actually, remember this young lady, as our table was right beside hers. I remember how unreasonable and rude she was to the servers at the Tea Room. She arrived late, I remember that because the ladies brought in a table for her from the porch. She didn't like the table and she didn't like where it was placed. She complained incessantly, disturbing all of us around her, and making us feel uncomfortable. I asked one of the servers what was going on and was told that she had actually booked for the first seating, and they were trying to fit her in. The server apologized to me for the inconvenience. Hence, there was no table for her, and yes, because of her, the room was crowded. I have always been treated with the utmost respect at my favourite Tea Room, and will always return.

It was our first visit there and we had a reservation for 4 people at 2:00 p.m. We saw "our" table and asked if we could have another one which was fine. After our tea was served, we were asked to move to another table to make room for seniors with walkers. We moved ourselves back to the original table with all our dishes ourselves. After we sat down, another waitress came in and told us we needed to move to yet a third table!!! We did so graciously yet noted later that no walkers were needed, therefore we could have stayed. The sandwiches were stale on the outside as they had been made in the morning. The scones, jams and desserts were incredibly good, as was the tea and an excellent selection. One of the waitresses was extremely friendly and helpful, however, ours was rather surly. I will give this establishment another chance as it may have been an off day. For the confusion of the tables and the interruption of our visit, we thought that they would have given us a discount or better yet, a coupon to entice us to go back.

We attended afternoon tea for Mother's Day and what a disappointment! The service was absolutely dreadful. After booking our reservation, for a busy afternoon tea, a month in advance and giving a credit card to hold our reservation - we arrived to find out they had no reservation for my mother and I. This was our first sign in the 'lack of service' - and should have known better to stay. Especially since the tables were so close together that you could hardly move in between them. You felt you were in the conversation in the tables all around you because they were so close. With all the people crammed in for 'Mother's Day' it was a disgrace. I traveled an hour away to take my mom to tea, which I have done for years as a Mother's day traditon, and this was the first big disappointment ever. The manager was initially gracious enough to set up a table for us as I really didn't want to go anywhere else, since it was Mother's Day and was treating my mom. So, we made the best of it. We asked for a better table as we were being bumped by everyone walking by, because they set up a table in the middle of the server path. The service we received after our request was dreadful. They literally threw things down at us. And my mom received lukewarm tea. She requested her tea to be warmed up. We were approached by the manager and told off in front of everyone - and made it clear that we were a 'burden' to the staff. Feeling humiliated, we left a few dollars to pay for the half cup of lukewarm tea that we drank and left. I would absolutely not recommend attending this tea room, and will never return. We will find other tea rooms to attend.

I discovered this tea room over eight years ago and it remains my favourite. I often take my mother or my aunt there for lunch, and its always been a wonderful meal with great service and a delightful atmosphere. I even had my mother's 75th birthday lunch there. I often take business meetings there for a special lunch break as well. The ladies at the tea room go out of their way to ensure that you and your guests are comfortable, that the meals are tasteful and always beautifully presented. I often go by myself just to relax and enjoy a quiet break in my day. I enjoy the tea room so much that I give out gift certificates to others so that they can experience the tea room. I highly recommend it.

Unlike the other customers who reviewed the The Tea Room at Robinson Bray House I have had nothing but wonderful times there. I have visited this tea room many times with girlfriends, my husband, my children, and many of my family. I have even held private functions there because I found the food, the staff, the tea, and the atmosphere to be nothing short of lovely. I use the word lovely because that is how I feel a tea room should be. I have never felt rushed, and when the time permitted the owners came and had a chat with us even when it was apparent they were very busy. This tea room is always busy, which to me says something, people like this place. They feel as if they are at home, and isn't that what having a good cup of tea is all about? I can assure you that for every negative review of this tea room there are hundreds of positives. I will go many times to this tea room and I hope it will be around for many years.

This tea room is located within a building that holds several other shops, including an antiques shop and a fudge shop. It is located in a beautiful, historic part of town. When entering, I had high hopes that this would be a wonderful tea room done up in full Victorian theme. I was disappointed that it seemed quite plain, with little to no décor. It seemed like a bunch of tables placed in someone's living room. Tables had no tablecloths, and this was clearly a no-frills type tea room. They had a nice selection of teas, served in plain white teapots and cups. The afternoon tea included a warm baked scone served with Devonshire cream and strawberry preserves on a three-tiered plate. Sandwiches included fresh cucumber, egg salad, and salmon, as well as a variety of sweets. Service was rushed. Pleasant experience, especially as a shopping break.

I took my Mother for a light luncheon and tea (an absolute necessity to the dining process in her opinion). We were greeted cordially and seated at a clean neatly appointed table. The server was very helpful and we selected the soup of the day (a delicious carrot soup) and then an order of dessert scones each and of course, the tea. Everything came beautifully prepared and at the appropriate temperature. The scones were so light they almost floated off the plate, so warm and tender, and accompanied by rich whipped cream and deliate strawberry preserves. With such a tremendous experience, we will be returning to sample many of the other varied items on the menu.

My friends and I try a different tea room every month and I have to say that afternoon tea at the Lemon Tree was wonderful. The owners of the shop are lovely and the food is excellent. The scones are to die for, but all of the food was fantastic. And the price can't be beat. I'm taking my mother there for Mother's day.

I have been to this tearoom on a number of occasions. Its located at the back of the finders keepers store at maple grove plaza. I have always enjoyed my visits to this tea room. Its very quiet and relaxing. The service is always great and the food is excellent. Sometimes I find it a little dark other than that I think its a well kept secret.

This is our absolute favourite tea room in eastern Ontario. The delicious food and the friendly and attentive staff make the 45-minute drive from Ottawa well worth the trip. Everything we have ever eaten there has been truly outstanding, and we eat there about four or five times a year. The soups and salads are fresh and tasty, and the variety of really interesting and delicious entrées and daily specials makes choosing so difficult. If I phone ahead, they'll even put banana cream pie on the menu and make it just the way I love it -- with banana-filled custard, graham cracker crust, and graham cracker crumbs sprinkled on top of a mountain of lightly-browned meringue. It's to die for! And the place is so pretty, too, with it's "ducky" trimmings, country home charm and view of the waterway. Be sure to make reservations, and enjoy!

I love tea and have visited many "tearooms" in the past, only to be disappointed by the food, tea selection, decor, and service. This was by far the best tearoom I have visited. The scones were heavenly (served with clotted cream, jams, and butter). The tea was imported from Britain and was delicious, and the actual tearoom was in a lovely Victorian house, decorated with antiques. Our server was very friendly too. Next time I will have to come for afternoon tea and try the sandwiches which are served on freshly baked breads.

Comments:
This tea room was very cute in appearance, but in the listing it showed cream tea, which was very misleading. The "cream" was a spray whip cream type that you would get out of a can. Not clotted cream as you would assume when cream tea is mentioned. Also the scones turned out to be tea biscuits. This was a big disappointment for us, as we searched specifically for a place that served Cream tea.

One expects a superlative teatime experience in a hotel as fine as the Royal York. On many counts, their tea service does not disappoint....with some important exceptions. But, to first focus on their successful elements, they offer a large and interesting selection of loose teas. It's always nice to see a selection indigenous to the locale....in this case, their maple-flavored black tea blend is distinctly Canadian. Service was impeccable, and the meal began with a fruit cup accompanied by a honey-drenched, homemade crumpet that was sublime. The 3-tiered tea tray followed, containing standard selections of tea sandwiches, scones and pastries. What I did find dismaying, however, was the choice of dinnerware used for afternoon tea. The teapot was neither china nor silver....instead, it was brushed stainless-steel shaped like a round Bodum teapot. And the teacup, rather than being of translucent china with a delicate lip, was standard hotel earthenware with a lip as thick as one would find on a local diner's coffee mug. A previous reviewer has noted the inappropriately contemporary, sterile environment of the Epic restaurant in which afternoon tea is served. I concur. Additionally, this restaurant has an open-air kitchen. So, instead of sipping tea to the beautiful strains of classical music, one is assaulted by the sounds of clattering pots and pans. As such, the Royal York provides a mixed experience containing many fine elements, but offset by some that are quite negative.
Would you go back? Maybe.

I used to LOVE tea at the Royal York, it was served in the lobby (elevated, away from passersby) around a fountain, with lovely tea tables and arm chairs and live music. Now it's served in a restaurant/bar at table, aside from the linen, the ambiance is a cross between diner and art nouveau, with sick green bench seating and gray/green/black/chrome Spartan décor. Although the food and tea remain excellent and the service is impeccable, I couldn't get over the change in the décor and location and will never go there again. Although maybe I'll ask if they do tea as room service, the hotel rooms are still quite lovely.

I took my granddaughters there to have high [sic] tea. They had a wonderful experience from the time we walked in until it was over. The crumpets were delicious, the sandwiches were fresh and a good assortment of them. The crowning feature was the swan made of pastry and filled with cream, being 7 and 8 years old, their eyes got big when it was placed in front of them. They still talk about it and I am going to take them there again. Truly a fabulous time.

In addition to serving tea and lunch, I think this is also a pastry shop, so the front whitewashed room displays beautiful, tempting fanciful desserts on large cake plates under glass covers and wedding cakes were in the windows. Afternoon tea at Red Tea Box was most enjoyable. They do not take reservations, so be warned - there will be a line up. Because they don't take reservations you will also have to wait about 25 minutes for your sandwiches and scones to come out, but the tea is ready right away. This place is neat because they serve their afternoon tea in a Bento box (called the Mad Hatter tea) and not on the traditional tiered stand, so there is a definite Asian feel to it. The sandwich was quite  tasty (curried chicken and avocado - they also have a vegetarian alternative) and the tiny little desserts were delightful. The service could have been more attentive, it's not a big place but our waitress couldn't be found most of the time. That said, it was very nice. In warmer weather they have an outdoor area filled with lovely plants. If you're looking to take afternoon tea with a bit of a twist I would suggest you go here!

The Red Tea Box is a lovely small tea room. Only biodynamic or organic single estate teas were served. I tried the Assam tea and it was just lovely. All the major "tea groups" (white, green, oolong, black) are represented, all in loose tea. A light lunch is available, as are stunning and interesting desserts. They put any leftover tea in a to-go cup for me at no charge. I did see people coming in and purchasing tea to-go, so this is also an option. You can also buy some loose tea to take home. Highly recommended. :) :)

This lovely tea room, which I have visited many times, is my favourite in the city and I do believe I have been to most. Taking afternoon tea at the elegant King Edward Hotel comes very close to a high art form. The Cafe Victoria, where afternoon tea is frequently but not always held, is one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Toronto. The lobby in which afternoon tea is served infrequently is also gorgeous. Silver tea service is performed and tea is served in china cups and saucers. Fresh fruit is served as are the traditional tiny tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, jam and little cakes and fruit tarts. A beautiful, delicious experience not to be missed by any true tea lover! Reservations are recommended.

Tea is served just off the main lobby of the hotel in what looks like an English drawing room. There is a gas fireplace, comfortable armchairs and loveseats, and beautiful tea tables with white linens. Hotel silver, china teacups and saucers. I think the scones, two of which had currants and two of which were plain, are better than those at the Four Seasons. However, the tea sandwiches, although delicious, were not as nice as those served at the Four Seasons. The ambience is what makes this a truly refined experience. Although it is not inexpensive, it is worth it.

Tea at the White House, Waterdown, ON

Visited: March, 2009. Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a mug.
Tea: Average.  Food: Good.  Service: Good.  Appearance: Good.
Comments:
The tearoom has changed over the years. I find it too commercialized now. Too modern looking - serving dishes are all white - I like my tea in fine bone china - and the scone is so tiny, you only get one. The front of the tearoom is tight and too much merchandise. And the tables are too close to each other. Not as relaxing as I thought it would be.
Would you go back? Sorry, no.

We didn't have tea. It was offered, no one came back to serve, as we also had other beverages. The tea house looked pretty, tables set attractively, lovely pictures, sandwich platter looked delicious, with apples, strawberries cut up & attractively arranged on a tiered platter, but that's where it ended. The 3 small sandwiches in cookie cutter shape looked pretty but were bland, the filling of cream cheese & cucumber lacked flavour & variety. The dessert squares were ordinary. At $20.00 + for this little platter, it was both expensive & disappointing. While the owner & those serving did their best to be friendly, it seemed formal, not relaxed, it was not a comfortable experience. It seemed to be missing some fun & the seating was very cramped. The decor is the main focus in this tea house, that & the small quaint room in the entrance where they sell a lot of teas, jams, other interesting items. It's  touristy, just not the experience we were looking for.
Would you go back? Sorry, no.

My husband and I like to travel across Southwestern Ontario trying out the different tea rooms in various locales. After reading all the great reviews about Tea at the White House we decided to try it as part of our celebration of the Winter Solstice otherwise known as Yule!! I called the tea room this morning and the phone was answered by a wonderfully pleasant woman, Wendy (one of the owners I believe) who happily set up a reservation for us. We got dressed up as Victorian carolers and set off on our trip to a place we have never been, Waterdown and a new tea room. *smiles*
Finding the place is easy as is parking which always starts one off on the right foot. The inside of the tea room is very cozy and cute, although a little cramped if you are there when it is busy. Next time we go we will make sure it is for 11-ish and hopefully it will be a little less full. Their collection of teas and tea accessories (i.e. small tea spoons, tea strainers etc) is impressive! We were seated quickly and a wonderfully friendly and attentive young lady took care of us while we were there. We reserved earlier in the day for afternoon tea which is a three tier plate full of scones, sandwiches, a large variety of fruit and of course sweets and a pot of tea for each of us ($21.99 each (but LOTS OF FOOD so it’s worth the price)). The teas (English Breakfast Decalf and Irish Breakfast) were wonderful! The sweet scones, although not entirely traditional (as far as I know anyway), were so fantastic they are worth the 45 minutes it took to get there!!! I can’t rave enough about these scones … simply amazing … you have to try them!!! The fruit was great too as were the sweets … but regrettably the sandwiches were a little less desirable … they were rather large (cute though since they were cut out in Christmas shapes) and a little bland (except for the asparagus and cream cheese. YUM!!!). I would absolutely recommend going to this tea room for Dorset Tea (I believe this one is scones and sweets but I could be wrong, it’s $18.99) or Devonshire Tea ($8.99). But having said the above about the afternoon tea it could have simply been the end of the  day or just the sandwiches of that day that weren’t fav’s of ours personally. I would be willing to give it another shot since everything else was so fantastic. Great work ladies!
Would you go back? Hope so, but we don't live nearby.

My sister made reservations for her bridesmaids to accompany her to afternoon tea. What a treat! So many tables were turned away because seating is limited. I was glad she had made reservations for us. We feasted on a 3-tiered tray of fancy sandwiches, scones, and fresh exotic fruit. The hostess/owner, Gillian, is extremely knowledgeable and she encouraged me to forego my usual English Breakfast for something new. I tried the Peony White tea. The selection of loose teas is staggering to behold and the elegant presentation of the sandwiches, etc., was truly a sight to behold. My sister had to drag me out of the giftshop.....

I loved Tea at the White House. Two friends and I drove from Toronto to have tea here based on the reviews. It was the best tea I've ever had (and there have been many)! The atmosphere was quaint and homey. The tea room itself is fairly small, so I would definitely suggest making reservations. The food was fantastic and they accommodated our picky bunch, and made alterations for us. I asked for help picking a tea, and got some great knowledgeable advice and picked a great tea. All in all, a fantastic relaxing experience. I can't wait to do it again.

Enjoyed the pleasures of stopping to sample Tea at the White House in Waterdown. For those who like a little taste of everything, but know their eyes are bigger than their stomach, try the Dorset Tea. Before leaving, I always stop to check the latest in tea, gadgets, and other items offered in the front of the shop.

My mother and I had the most beautiful creation of fresh afternoon tea, in the midst of a blustery cold March winter Sunday afternoon. Our young waitress was so knowledgeable and softly efficient. Wendy and Jill, the owners, are as warm and gracious as the tearoom itself. I am in the process of exploring the idea of opening a tearoom of my own. They are most encouraging. I have attended two of the five evening courses they offer related to everything tea. It was terrific. Wendy has a great business brain and Jill is sharing her love affair with the world of tea. Both times the evening ended with wonderful White House created tea blends and fresh glorious scones. Don't miss any opportunity to go to tea at the White House.

My first time experiencing a tea house. Suffice to say "Awesome!" I would definitely go back and possibly become a regular. The atmosphere was so inviting and the service, very kind. In all honesty the temperature was cool in the house but it might have been partially due to the opening and closing of the door and the bitter cold weather outside. Other than that I would rate it a 10. Try it, you will know what I mean.

We visited the tea room today, January 3, 2003. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was sinfully delicious. We have never seen so many tea choices. Our waitress knew the different tea varieties very well. She was able to recommend new teas for us to try that were similar to ones that we normally enjoyed. The tea room was cozy, comfortable, warm, and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful. We suggest you make a reservation since it is a busy place. The visit to the tea room was well worth the trip to Waterdown.

This is a lovely tea room with exceptionally gracious hosts, offering a cozy and intimate atmosphere. We felt like we were being welcomed home when we arrived. The presentation of afternoon tea with its sandwiches, scones and "naughty bits" (i.e. squares, tarts) all on our three-tiered stand, was absolutely beautiful and very colourful. It is simply one of the loveliest presentations we have ever seen. The quality of the food is excellent and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent -- both attentive and gracious. The tea room offers an extensive selection of loose teas and the hostess is very knowledgable with respect to all varieties of tea they carry. They also have a delightful selection of china and tea accessories in their tea shop. We will definitely return for another visit, hopefully in the very near future.

It was very dusty and shabby-shiek, but more on the shabby side. The fair was passable but the price for such a small amount was too high. The food tasted alright but I have visited many tea rooms which were better. Hopefully this one has improved over the last year. I will try it once this year since there seems to have been some renovations. Perhaps other things have also changed.
