Anglican
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, St. John's,
Newfoundland
Visited:
August, 2002
Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Teabags. Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Service:
Excellent. Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: Tea at the Crypt in the
Anglican Cathedral is a wonderful experience.
Reservations are usually needed. For $6 Canadian,
you are treated to a delightful experience and a
true insight into the good people of Newfoundland.
This is a purely volunteer organization, and these
lovely ladies sign up for a week of baking and
serving. The homemade treats are delicious, and
the ladies sell a recipe book of their
confections. No tea sandwiches, but unlimited
sweets and tea. All profits go to the Church. It
is all beautifully and lovingly done.
