Comments: The Valentine's evening
dinner was excellent in every aspect! We enjoyed
hot tea and iced herbal tea and both were very
good. The food was delicious, especially Ginger
Carrot Soup, and the presentation was festive
for the special occasion. We loved the Cherry
Cobbler dessert that was topped with a cranberry
heart-shaped scone.

Comments: I recently had the extreme
pleasure of visiting Miss Rosemarie's Special
Teas. The whole experience and ambiance was
exceptional. I've been to some of the finest Tea
Rooms in Europe and Miss Rosemarie's is second
to none. The selection of Teas and luncheon menu
items are fantastic. Thank you for bringing this
type of Tea Room home to the states. I will be
back again and again, and the best part, is that
I don't have to leave the country to enjoy this
type of Tea Salon.

Two
Sassy Cups Tearoom, Foley, AL
Visited:
October, 2006. Reviewed: November, 2006.
Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf and
teabags. Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Fair. Food: Excellent. Service: Poor.
Appearance: Good.
Comments: This really is not a per se
afternoon tea establishment; it is a sandwich
luncheon place. Tea not so good; Unless call
ahead no scones; no clotted cream or jam. Served
by 12 year olds--so not efficient at all. Just
do not understand what a proper afternoon tea
involves--but can boil water and prepare
teabags; no cucumber sandwiches or small
sandwiches resembling what one would expect of a
proper place.
Would you go back? Sorry, no.

Comments: I had heard this charming
little tearoom had reopened, I had met a few
business ladies for lunch not knowing what to
expect. We were all delighted with the
atmosphere and the music that took you back to
another era! We all tried something different
and agreed that the Tomato Bisque was by far the
best we ever tasted, we were told the cook,
somewhat crazy,(a joke of course) is part owner
with her sister and loves to cook, and changes
the menu often. We will surely go treat
ourselves again but next time for one of there
Garden Teas.

Gracie's
English Tea Room & Gifts, Montgomery, AL

Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf.
Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Service:
Excellent. Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: Having visited tearooms
throughout the U.S. and Canada, I feel fortunate
to find such a delightful tearoom in my brand
new hometown as Gracie's English Tearoom and
Gifts. Gracie's epitomizes everything one would
hope to find in a tearoom. The best of British
traditions is combined with the justifiably
renowned Southern hospitality. I was warmly
greeted upon my first-time visit, and made to
feel as if I was already a cherished, long-time
friend and patron. The delicious food (great
scones!) and well-brewed tea are beautifully
served in a wonderful old home near the the
historic Cloverdale district, where F. Scott and
Zelda Fitzgerald made their home in the 1930s.
Gracie's provides a wide selection of teas and
delicious food in the perfect atmosphere to
spend an afternoon "taking tea."

Comments: My wife and I really enjoyed
ourselves!!! We have been looking for
traditional type tea rooms and Gracie's was only
the second one in our area that we have found.
The cucumber sandwiches were to live for!! I had
seconds. Cheryl(?) our server was warm and
friendly! A delightfully wonderful hostess. Judy
is simply radiant!! She has the most gracious
charm that any true Southern lady has and it
shows in how she runs her business. We will
definitely be back again and again!!

Comments: Gracie did a wonderful job
designing her shop and tea room. The atmosphere
is very quaint. The setting is in an antique
Victorian home that is both feminine and warm.
The service is wonderful and she can accommodate
any size of group, even large groups. The scones
with cream and jam were delicious. I would
suggest anyone visiting or living in Montgomery
visit this lovely tea room.

Comments: My friends and I had the
Royal Tea, which was the typical afternoon tea
service with the finger sandwiches, scones, and
sweets, plus a more substantial meat or cheese
entrée, making it more filling for a lunch
meal.
The food was well done, but no better than other
true tea rooms to which I have been. The charm
of Gracie's on the day that I visited (July 17,
2003) was in the special attention given to us
by our server. I'm sorry that I didn't catch her
name. (She did tell us that she has five
children and that she did the experimental
blendings of the teas to make new flavors, if
that helps the owner to realize what a treasure
she has in that employee.)
The décor in our dining room was old-fashioned
hats and stoles draped over the empty chair
backs. The location was convenient (about 4
blocks off I-85)in the Old Mulberry district,
which means that your tea room visit could be
paired with antique and arts-crafts shopping.

a wonderful tea experience for their guests. The
presentation is picture perfect and each
sandwich, scone, salad, soup, sweet is divine to
the palate as is to the eye. The exterior
setting is as beautiful as the interior. The
tables are set so elegantly, but not
intimidating. My guests have always left with a
new appreciation for the art of Tea and the
ceremony about taking time out for a leisure cup
of tea and life. What a wonderful experience. We
thank you Ramona (and staff and husband) and
appreciate that you are sharing your wonderful

Comments: What a FABULOUS tea room!!!
We went for a Queen's Tea and the entire group
of 16 ladies had a wonderful time. The owner,
Diane Moore, greeted us with true southern
hospitality and gave us a personal tour of the
historic home. Then we were escorted into a
private room decorated with hats of all shapes,
styles, and colors. While all the ladies modeled
a variety of hats, we were served multiple pots
of our choice of teas and a scrumptious sampling
of savories, scones, tea cakes and sandwiches.
The owner shared her recipe for tea cakes with
us and also tipped us to the source for the most
unusual silver tiered tea trays we have come
across. The gift shop was stocked with a
wide variety of tea and china themed items and
unusual gifts - all at a very affordable price.
Loose tea was available for purchase in both
sample "try me" sizes and full size.
We were not rushed at all and made to feel very
welcome. The front parlor was beautiful and the
perfect place for a photo op - Miss Diane even
took group pictures for us. Overall, this is one
of the best tea rooms we've ever visited
and it is well worth the drive to Wilsonville to
visit the Densler House. We can't wait to go
back!!!
Would you go back? Yes, can't wait!
