Comments: We carefully reviewed tea rooms in the area to
have a wonderful afternoon of tea during our visit to
Birmingham. I even called ahead to inquire about their establishment, food,
tea, etc. and made a reservation. We arrived at our reservation
time. The building is cute, and decorated sweetly inside. We
had a very nice waiter. We enjoyed the tea and scones. They
only brought us a small amount of curd and cream. They served
only 3 little tiny slices on sandwich, one of which was shrimp
as was way too "fishy", I didn't eat that one. We asked for
another round of scones, we'd pay for it of course, we were told
the kitchen was closed!!! We just got there!! I told
them I'd gladly pay for a sandwich, I was told, we are sorry, but, the
kitchen is closed! The "dessert" portion seemed store bought
and very skimpy. We left hungry and disappointed, and got
lunch elsewhere. After we left we realized ...
they never brought us our quiche that was supposed to come with our tea! This for
$23.95/person???
Would you go back? Sorry, no.

Comments: What a FABULOUS tea room!!!
We went for a Queen's Tea and the entire group
of 16 ladies had a wonderful time. The owner,
Diane Moore, greeted us with true southern
hospitality and gave us a personal tour of the
historic home. Then we were escorted into a
private room decorated with hats of all shapes,
styles, and colors. While all the ladies modeled
a variety of hats, we were served multiple pots
of our choice of teas and a scrumptious sampling
of savories, scones, tea cakes and sandwiches.
The owner shared her recipe for tea cakes with
us and also tipped us to the source for the most
unusual silver tiered tea trays we have come
across. The gift shop was stocked with a
wide variety of tea and china themed items and
unusual gifts - all at a very affordable price.
Loose tea was available for purchase in both
sample "try me" sizes and full size.
We were not rushed at all and made to feel very
welcome. The front parlor was beautiful and the
perfect place for a photo op - Miss Diane even
took group pictures for us. Overall, this is one
of the best tea rooms we've ever visited
and it is well worth the drive to Wilsonville to
visit the Densler House. We can't wait to go
back!!!
