We had such a lovely time, treated by princesses and even given a hat to wear for the afternoon tea. Lovely people, they certainly know how to entertain their guests that visit.

While visiting Price Edward Island, we visited Grandma's Tea Room. It was a very enjoyable experience. We were greeted warmly, given lovely Victorian hats to wear, selected the tea we wanted and given delicious scones and sweets. It was an enjoyable experience.
Would you go back? Hope so, but we don't live nearby.

I love Cindy's tea room! Its old-fashioned hats and purses; windows looking into flower beds and across gorgeous green fields; bluejays and humming birds peeking in the windows! I couldn't have had a more relaxing experience. Thank you!

Friendly and Excellent service. Despite being primarily a coffee drinker I thoughourly enjoyed the raspberry blend that I ended up choosing. The variety of sweets offered went very well with this tea. The scones, jam and clotted cream was also a very nice touch.

To be honest I am not a big tea drinker. My mother and I went to Grandma's Tea Room to have an afternoon out. We had a memorable time sipping tea with Cindy's fashionable vintage hats adorned on our heads. That was the best tea, there was a depth to the flavour that I have not experienced with other teas. Our scones were yummy and Cindy's hospitality topped it all off wonderfuly. Two thumbs up from this reviewer.

What a delightful experience!! The variety of tea available was quite impressive, the view from the tea room was a beautiful pastoral scene. The scones with butter, whipped cream, choice of jam or jelly just melted in your mouth. The tea room is cozy and inviting, and all ladies are offered a beautiful hat to wear to tea, if they choose. If you are visiting PEI you owe it to yourself to drop by for a cuppa, you will be glad you did, I know we were.

The hostess, Cindy, was fantastic, making us feel so welcome. The selection of teas made it difficult to choose just one. Both the tea and scones were delicious! ...and the coddled cream MMMM! I loved trying on a few of the Tea Room Hats from her collection! So much fun! I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Blue Winds Tea Room, Kensington, PEI

Visited: June, 2000
Comments:
Light meals, soups, sandwiches, and desserts carefully prepared by Mark and Terry Kamikawa, served in the warmth of their old Island home just a stone's throw from L.M. Montgomery's Birthplace in New London, P.E.I. Open from mid-May to mid-October. Sunday brunch is served throughout the summer months. (from their brochure and card)
We stopped here on our last full day on the island for lunch (do call ahead and make a reservation as they only seat 12). The food was simple, soup and sandwiches, but homemade and very fresh. We had their homemade raspberry cordial (an Island must!), lemonade, and raspberry soda; they do not serve commercial sodas.
I was seated facing the fare board so had plenty of time to decide which dessert to have with my tea! We chose almond cake, cream caramel, and chocolate/raspberry cake. There was also rhubarb crumble, apricot custard tart, and oat cake, to name a few more.
Afternoon tea is also served, which includes fruit cake, scones with whipped cream and Island preserves, and tea of choice for $4.95. The tea came in stout metal pots filled with very hot water and your teabag of choice. They also offer a Japanese green and 'toasted' tea.
The setting is lovely. The house is set back from the road and surrounded by a blooming garden, the decor of the tea room is restful, and the food is served on local potters' wares, a very nice touch. Our only regret is we waited until our last day to visit!

Mrs. Profitt's Tea Shop at the Orient Hotel, Victoria-by-the-Sea, PEI

Comments:
While it has been three summers since I have been there, Mrs. Profitt's Tea at the Orient Hotel on Prince Edward Island is still my all-time favorite, bar none (and that includes some of the world's finest!)! The thing that probably accounts for its uniqueness is an unusual flower-like bouquet. I have just searched the web in order to find their address and phone number -- I plan to order some to be shipped to America!
